The Very Odd Couple

Former 49er’s quarterback Steve Young has made a very odd choice for a personal assistant. Yep, he’s hired Kirk Reynolds.

Kirk Reynolds is the former public relations director for the San Francisco 49er’s. He was fired last year after making an in-house video for training players on how to deal with the media and public. The video made “interesting” remarks regarding gays, sex and so on. Frankly, it was much ado about nothing, but a mortal sin in our PC world. Yep, even in San Francisco.

The odd thing about this story is Steve Young is a devout Mormon. Yep, he’s been sending in a percentage of his check throughout his career and doing the Mormon thing. Undoubtedly, the Mormon Church parades him around as part of a publicity campaign. That being said, I wonder if they offer the same warm shoulder to Kirk Reynolds.

I have my doubts.
