Australian Power Company Goes For Phone Sex

We Energies [Yes, the real name] accidentally mixed up some numbers and listed a phone sex number for one of its services. In an effort to alert low income individuals of special pricing plans, the company sent out 4,000 direct mail pieces. Hilarity ensued when people calling the number were given a different kind of service.

The mailer went out last week to about 4,000 customers who qualify for a new energy assistance program, Beth Martin, a spokeswoman for We Energies said.
